API SSL issues?

Every now and then when making a request to the API, I’ll get the following error: [SSL: TLSV1_ALERT_INTERNAL_ERROR] tlsv1 alert internal error (_ssl.c:581)

Running: “openssl s_client -connect api.twitch.tv:443” to test a few times, sometimes returns: http://i.imgur.com/9zdO5M7.png

It doesn’t seem to be happening all the time, but maybe once for every ~25 requests.

When Twitch is under heavy load you seem to see this as well as a lot of errors when authenticating users (authentication codes not working, access tokens not working or taking 10-15 seconds to become active).
