I’ve recently came across the need to list cheer / bits history for users. I know I can get the total amount of cheers when a user cheers, but what I’m asking for is a way to query all cheers in a channel. Currently the only “solution” is to track new cheers, and build a history based on that, but that still only covers new cheers, and not past ones.
Are there any plans in v5 to add anything like this?
We don’t generally speak to future APIs. Right now, the focus of v5 is to change from username to user IDs in all APIs. New APIs will be announced as we release them. 
Understandable that you don’t talk about future APIs, just thought if you may have some unofficial something may be coming type of thing
