Bug - When I'm logged into my account on the desktop app it will not let me see or type in chat

I cannot type in, or see twitch chat when using the desktop app.

However, when I log in from the internet with the same account I have no issues typing in or seeing the chat.

This has never happened before and is slightly irritating because there is no obvious reason for this.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
