Can I use Twitch emoticons in my project?

I have a small open-source PHP project to manage stream schedules, https://github.com/sgt-kabukiman/horaro. I want to allow schedule editors to use emotes like Kappa in the schedule or the description text and have them be converted to proper <img> tags.

Am I allowed to link to the Twitch emotes from my site? Should I use links or keep a copy of the emoticon files? In what form would I need to give credit?
