Get Channel Followers Endpoint and Notifications field

I cant seem to find any references in the API Documentation or the API Forums on this subject.

In the “Get Channel Followers” Endpoint, each user object has a “notifications” field that can either be true or false.

What determines this value and what would be the use of this field in third party programs?

Does this field mean the user has notifications sent to them enabled or disabled?

OR does this field suggest for an alert/welcome widget to NOT display a notification if set to false, allowing new followers to, in effect, stealth-follow? Much like a “follow” version of lurking.

This switch sets it true/false. Your first instinct is correct, it’s whether the user receives notifications for the channel or not.
