How to send/recieve IRC queries on twitch IRC server?

Hello,

I am trying to send and receive private messages to other users on the twitch IRC server via query (not whisper), from IRC client to IRC client. However, it seems that my queries are not received on the other users’ ends, and their queries are not received on my end, either. Is there something that needs to be done in order to enable this functionality?

Even though Twitch Chat is somewhat compatible with IRC Clients, it is not an IRC server and doesn’t implement most of the IRC features. There are no private messages besides Whispers (which as you might know work quite differently as well and might completely move off of IRC soon).
