Playing past broadcasts on iOS

Hi guys,

I’m developing an iPad app which, among other things, provides a custom frontend to some Twitch functionality. I’ve already figured out how to get streams and play them using the HTML5 player in a UIWebView. I was wondering if something similar exists for archived video.

I see that the endpoint exists, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to play past broadcasts using anything other than the flash player.

Could someone confirm/deny if this is true? If it’s impossible to play past broadcasts on iOS, is there any timeline on when that functionality will be added?

Currently there is no way to view past broadcasts using anything other than the flash player.

Thanks for your input Gareth, it’s much appreciated. I was wondering if there’s any planned support for this in the future? The video integration options on iOS are quite limited, which is really unfortunate =\

Yes, there are plans but sadly we can’t go into what they are right now.

If you contact brooke@twitch.tv he is our account manager, depending on what you are working on NDAs might be able to be signed etc.
