I have embedded a twitch chat iframe into a website I built using the code from the official twitch api documentation. When I use Internet Explorer, the chat will continuously reload roughly every second. It does not do this for other browsers, such as firefox and chrome. TwitchGeeks.com is the website that is having the issue. Thank you.
Edit: Click on a streamer’s picture to bring up the chat window if no one is streaming.
What version of IE? It’s working correctly in IE 11 here for me.
I am seeing the same issue in IE 8-10. Troubleshooting…
I’m still seeing the problem. I’m getting the same error that Knoober is seeing.
Error: Unable to get property ‘constructor’ of undefined or null reference
from the script:
I included an earlier version of jQuery (1.8.3) in an attempt to quell the browser deprecated message, but no dice.
Getting the same result now with IE 11.
Example embed: http://jsfiddle.net/r8ZBT/embedded/result/
Result in F12 console: http://sol.bashcdn.net/38-jWZnBraINePftI.txt
The embed does not see me logged although I currently am. Attempting to send a message will result in login popup. I am able to see messages in the main chat.
getting same issue too.how to fix this?
I happen to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 and saw that the problem also happens in Internet Explorer 9.
After a month, this is still a problem. Since IE is (sadly) one of the most used web browsers and AFAIK is a supported browser by Twitch, someone should do something about it already.
im getting the same error using vb.net. can some one help in getting this fixed please.
I am also still seeing this issue in Internet Explorer 9. Any updates on this?
This should have been fixed as of four days ago, and I just failed to reproduce it. Can you provide what error your seeing?
Checking the issue now…
EDIT: The issue is still there, however, re-installing flash within IE fixed the problem. FYI - Google chrome was my default browser and IE may or may not have had the flash plugin installed.
