We load the Twitch embed via the javascript embed, but the thumbnail is no longer showing for some reason.

I was unable to replicate your issue.

@BarryCarlyon not a comparable situation. Your embed always autoplays, ours doesn’t and can start paused if the user pauses it (we remember if a user paused it using local storage).
Cant’ really help you without more information then.
There should be no different between the example embed and you embed regardless of Autoplay, since unless you are modifying the player and thus not using the embed JS as it’s presented, there shouldn’t be any difference
