Using bits to circumvent subscribers only mode

Today I noticed a non-subscriber was donating bits and typing messages while chat mode was in subscribers only.

Is this working as intended? That doesn’t seem right to me.

It’s working as intended as far as I know.

Agreed, seems like kind of a loophole. You can send 1 bit and then type a message out. Hmm.

If the channel owner doesn’t want to allow that they can set a minimum bits requirement.

Definitely working as intended. Subscribers only mode is not meant to prevent non-subscribers from cheering bits to streamers.
