I have a chatbot that is now in several channels and am concerned about the rate limit. The rate limit for a known bot is stated as 50 messages per 30 seconds. My bot has a self limit of 1 message per 6 seconds per channel, but if 10 or more channels happen to hit that then the bot would get timed out for 30 minutes.
Channels could give the bot mod, increasing the limit to 100 per 30 seconds, but how is that calculated if not all channels mod it? Also I prefer not to have the bot modded because in my opinion that violates the principle of least privilege. There is no reason for my bot to be modded other than the increased rate limit. (some streamers like it modded for the visibility that the mod tag brings though.)
The next tier up is 7500! That’s a bit overkill for my bot, and am a bit surprised that there isn’t another in-between tier.
