Get channel chat badges API documentation mistake?

In the documentation here Reference | Twitch Developers it says " Provided broadcaster_id must match the user_id in the user OAuth token.".

It confused me because it would mean I can only request badges of my own channel right? However all broadcaster_ids I tried worked (which makes sense because badges are public stuff)

I think the documentation should be corrected.
