TMI Gone or Just my DNS?

I started to notice a few minute ago I was no longer polling tmi.twitch.tv and when I try to go the site…

** server can’t find tmi.twitch.tv: NXDOMAIN

Anyone else noticing that? Or just my DNS cache?

Yup, me too. isup.me shows it as down, as well.

I published an internal DNS record externally which couldn’t be resolved. Should be fixed in <5m.

Cert issue now:

My bot:
java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative DNS name matching tmi.twitch.tv found.

Chrome:
This server could not prove that it is tmi.twitch.tv; its security certificate is from *.chat.twitch.tv. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

How about now? Just changed the cert.

Now just hanging (Connection refused eventually) when trying to get to http://tmi.twitch.tv (http://tmi.twitch.tv/servers?channel=illusionaryone to be exact). And hangs for https

It seems slower on the response time than usual, and sometimes tosses a ECONNRESET, but seems to be working. Thanks!

Ok, so, when using this URL:
https://tmi.twitch.tv/servers?channel=illusionaryone

Fine, when using some of the other endpoints:
https://tmi.twitch.tv/group/user/illusionaryone/chatters

This site can’t be reached

tmi.twitch.tv refused to connect.
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Same with the /hosts endpoint as well.

I’m noticing the same: unable to download chatter list or host list.

I just pushed another DNS update. Things should look better in a few minutes.

Will, just to check whether I have the update, tmi.twitch.tv is resolving to these IP addresses for me:

  • 192.16.64.29
  • 199.9.252.56

After some more testing, this has been updated again. Please make sure you’re connecting to tmi.twitch.tv rather than directly to an IP address.
